When I blogged Katie and Gabe’s engagement session, I mentioned how excited I was to be working with such genuine people and after photographing their wedding, I still stand by these words. It was the day before Easter and the weather was perfect and love was absolutely in the air. Everyone involved in the wedding and all the guests were so pleasant to be around, and I enjoyed every moment of the day.

This wedding felt so special in so many ways but my favorite part about their story is how they met. It was in the pre-school at their church, Grace Lutheran Learning Center, and as Gabe recalls it was love at first sight for him. Can you imagine finding the person you will spend the rest of your life with at 3 years old? What an amazing story they will have to tell their children and their children’s children. Over twenty years after their first meeting, they’re saying I Do in that very same church.

It was clear photography was important to Katie because she even though her wedding was at her church in Miami Springs, she selected Fairchild Tropical Garden as the place to have their First Look and Portraits done and she event rented a home in Coconut Grove that weekend to be close to the Garden as she got ready. As a photographer in love with light, I was in awe of this place. But as a wedding photographer in love with love, I can’t say enough about Gabe’s reaction to seeing Katie at their First Look. If there were an award for the most sincere and heartwarming reaction, he’d win it for sure. I just love witnessing those moments.
