When Halloween falls on a Saturday and parties were going well into the wee hours of the next morning, you don’t expect any young, energetic couples to be willing to get up for a photo session bright and early the following day. Especially when one of the two is a med student who’s schedule is probably pretty hectic! But these two showed up on time, and wore smiles like champions! We had an absolutely perfect day for a Hollywood beach engagement session, roaming in the sand, on the broadwalk and eventually just checking out alleys around us for some clean walls to use as backdrops.

This was the first time I had the pleasure of meeting Rachel and John, and it’s always slightly awkward to get to know anyone when I’m shoving this big camera in their faces. But the best part about these two is that when it felt a little awkward in the beginning, they just laughed. What photographer doesn’t love a good genuine laugh?? This first image in the post? Yep, that one up there. It was the VERY first frame. Not the very first frame I kept, but also the very first frame I took. How cool right? That like NEVER happens.

It was fun listening to them tell their story, because it reminded me a lot of how Randy and I clicked when we first met. A love at first sight kind of story – the best kind, am I right? They moved from Ohio when John started going to Med School and I expect they might move again when he’s done in a few short months. But in the meantime, they’re loving this South Florida life, and I’m happy I can be here to document what’s for sure going to be the best day of their life so far! I’m so looking forward to May 2o16!
